Roy M. Hildebrant, 48, of Mount Olive Township died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Born in Newton he is the son of Patricia Hart and the late Roy J. Hildebrant. Roy was a Farmer, operating Iona Hill Farm on Route 46. He was formerly a member of the Farm Bureau and had been active in 4-H and the FFA. He was a 1981 graduate of Pop John XXIII High School in Sparta and a member of the Drakestown United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by; his wife, Michele; his six children, daughters, Bailey, Grae, and twins Aspen and Hunter, sons, Roy and Forrest, and two sisters, Kim Calabrese and Kyle Semanchik.
Roy Hildebrant battled cancer like he lived his life, with courage and dignity. He taught many people the true meaning of life, how to be kind, helpful and patient. He was truly respected among his family, friends and community. Everyone that knew him, knew that he was a selfless and genuine man. He gave so much to so many and never asked for anything in return. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 16th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm at the Scala Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17th at 10 am at the Drakestown United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.
