formerly of East Hanover

Amelia Ferris (Vanacore), 96, formerly of East Hanover, passed away peacefully at her home in Michigan on January 27, 2014. An East Hanover resident for 82 years, Amelia grew up on the Vanacore family farmland that is now occupied by St. Rose of Lima Church. She worked for the Township of East Hanover for 20 years, the last ten years as Tax Collector. She was a St. Rose of Lima parishioner and a member of the Rosary Society. She was an East Hanover Volunteer First Aid Squad Booster and an avid bowler. Beloved wife of the late A. Christopher Ferris. Devoted mother of Christopher Ferris, Carol Sannitti, her husband Philip, Robert Ferris and his wife Barbara. Loving grandmother of Michael and Paul Sannitti, Justin, Daniel, Keith, Ciara and Keirsten kFerris, and the late Lauren Elaine Sannitti. Dear sister of Rosemarie Hamm and the lates Ernest Vanacore, Ida Mullins, Virginia Stauder and Salvatore Vanacore. Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, 210 Ridgedale Ave., Florham Park on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral on Tuesday, assembling at 10am followed by a mass at St. Rose of Lima Church in East Hanover at 11am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
