Jean Quimby Huff

Jean Quimby Huff passed away after a long illness on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center; she was a resident of Morristown. Jean was born in Little Falls, NJ, on July 11, 1945, and has been a resident of Morristown for 43 years. Jean had been married to Robert for forty-six years, and together they raised their daughter, Jeanne Margaret, who also lives in Morristown. Jean had graduated from William Paterson University, and received a Master's in Library Service from Rutgers University in 1989. Jean had been a Media Specialist with the Morris School District for 39 years, and had been at the Woodland and Hillcrest Schools. Jean had received many accolades in her years at the school district, including Teacher of The Year, where, with other honorees, she enjoyed a luncheon with Governor Kean. Jean had also completed 25 years' service as a Children's Librarian at the Morris County Library in Hanover. Jean is well-remembered for her gracious attitude and willingness to be helpful to all. She had always been a creative person with a great love of reading, which she passed on to her daughter and countless students and library patrons. Jean is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Jeanne Margaret, and her two sisters, Anne Richards in Connecticut, and Ruth McNelis, in Little Falls.

A Memorial service will be held at the Morristown United Methodist Church at 10a.m., Saturday, July 12. Interment will be privately arranged by the Dangler Funeral Home in Morris Plains. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the , or the .
