WALTER H. BEYER AGE: 87 WHIPPANY Walter H. Beyer, of Whippany, died at Wynwood of Florham Park, where he resided for the past 4 years, on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the age of 87. He was the son of Frances and William Beyer. Walter was born and raised in Jamaica, Queens NY and lived in Whippany for 45 years. Walter was a Designer with the Engineering/Information Department of Bell Telephone Labs in Whippany for 47 years. He was active in the Jewett Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a service organization of Bell Lab employees and retirees. Walter loved his German heritage, the Yankees, and was a devoted donor to services that provided civilian security and public pride. Walter is survived by his devoted friend, Betty Riley of Whippany and long-time friends, the O'Connell family. He is survived by his brothers, Alfred Beyer Sr., of Seaford NY and Thomas C. Beyer of Media PA. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers: Raymond & William. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany Rd., Whippany.
