GARY STAPLES AGE: 57 ROXBURY TWP. Gary Staples, 57, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 of an apparent heart attack. Born in Dover on May 10, 1953 to the late Clarence M. Staples, Jr. and Anna Lecher Staples, he lived in the Lower Berkshire Valley section of Roxbury Twp. until the 1970's when he moved to Florida. He moved back to Berkshire Valley in 2002. He was a Hot Rod Enthusiast and worked as a mechanic for Kaiser Pontiac in Florida and for Ayers Chevrolet, Dover and Gearhart Chevrolet, Denville. Gary was a member of the North Jersey Street Rod Association. He had a passion for building and working on Hot Rods. His knowledge of mechanics and automobiles made him an asset to his club and he will be missed by many. Survived by his two brothers, Clarence Staples and his wife Pat of Jefferson Twp., Arnold "Joe" Staples with whom he lived; sister, Pattie Stalter and her husband Terry of Wharton; nephews, Ryan Stalter of Wharton, Jimmy Mathie and his wife Virginia of Stuart, FL; niece, Sherri Clemente and her husband Helio of Flanders. He also leaves behind his step-daughter, Jessica Gathings of Deland, FL; and his beloved companion, Kitty Ramsey of Budd Lake. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton.
