Edward Fletcher

AGE: 79 • Morris Plains

Edward Fletcher, 79, of Morris Plains, N.J. peacefully entered into eternal life on June 26, 2011, at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fletcher was born on October 25, 1931 in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. and lived there until he moved to Morris Plains, N.J. in 1960. He was an avid New York Giants fan. He worked as a Construction Salesman and Builder. He served as a Military Policeman in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Fletcher was a Councilman in Morris Plains from 1974 until 1976. He was also a member of the VFW, a Volunteer for the GPA, and an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Sexton at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, N.J. He was a Little League Coach in Morris Plains and worked for many years on the Election Polls.

Mr. Fletcher was a loving husband to his wife of 59 years, Carol Riedel Fletcher. He was a devoted father to five sons, Brian and his wife Jeanne; Glenn and his wife Randy; Kevin and his wife Jackie; Scott and his wife Patty and Bruce and his wife Lorre. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Michael, Kristy, Kelly, Glenn, Kevin, Brendan, Scott, Meghan, Samantha, Grant and Gabrielle.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 8:00AM at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM at St. Virgil's Church, Speedwell & W. Hanover Aves, Morris Plains, N.J. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, N.J. 07920. Visiting will be on Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Funeral Home.
