Thomas R. Hull

AGE: 69 • Navesink

Thomas R. Hull, 69, of Navesink, passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at home. Tom was born in Dover, NJ and lived in Fremont, NH and Little Silver, NJ before moving to Navesink in 2000. He graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1967 and an MS in Material Science in 1969. Tom began work for the Bell System in 1967 and worked for Bell Laboratories, Western Electric/Network Systems, AT&T and Lucent in MA and NJ. He retired from Lucent in 2001 and began work for Aastra USA Inc. as a Senior Contract Manager. Tom was very active in the local community. In NH, he served as a trustee for the town Trust Fund, Lay Leader of the United Methodist Church, Director of the Fremont Development Corp., and member of the Fremont Conservation Commission. In Little Silver he was dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 126 for 10 years, mentoring 35 Eagle Scouts.

He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Alice Gilligan Hull. Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gayle A. Drago Hull; his children, Robert T. Hull of Springvale, ME, Christopher J. Hull of Worcester, MA and Noelle M. Hull Perillo and her husband Justin A. of Silver Spring, MD; a sister, Carol Rossi and her husband Fred of Rockaway Borough, NJ; and his grandson, Tate R. Perillo.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. A funeral home service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, followed by the interment at the Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
