Funeral for Brenda Kerr, 55, of Nacogdoches will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Lumen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery, near Nacogdoches. Miss Kerr died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in Nacogdoches. She was born Oct. 22, 1956, in Nacogdoches, to Garth and Jean Barrett Scroggins. She was a resident of Nacogdoches but lived for many years in Houston. She was a member of the Happy Valley Church in Cushing and worked as an RN for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Carolyn Schmidt, Cindy Goolsby and Sherry Gill and brother David Scroggins. She is survived by her sons Robert Wayne Puckett and David Christopher Puckett, both of Nacogdoches; daughter Lisa Michelle Puckett, of Nacogdoches; sister Barbara Cole, of Nacogdoches; longtime friend and caretaker Mike Hayes, of Nacogdoches; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Puckett, Chris Puckett, Thomas Scroggins, Dale Cole, Frank Rudisill and Mitchell Goolsby. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Scroggins, Neal Hayes and Michael Cole. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. Dickie Allen Funeral Home.
