Patrick Solise, 88, of Nacogdoches, passed away on May 9, 2014, in Nacogdoches. He was born on Jan. 5, 1926, in Nacogdoches, the son of Simon Solise and Mary Buster Solise. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Monsignor James E. Young officiating. Interment will follow at Moral Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home. Mr. Solise was raised in the Moral community and still is a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He felt the call of duty to serve his country and he served both in the United States Navy and then also served in the United States Army. Loving God's creation, he enjoyed the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and really anything that involved being outside. When not outdoors, he enjoyed relaxing and enjoying his favorite football teams, and when they weren't playing, any sport would do. Mr. Solise is survived by his brothers, Simon Michael Solise and his wife, Trish, of Nacogdoches, and Aaron Paul Solise and his wife, Betty, also of Nacogdoches; sisters, Rose Lazarine of Lufkin, Grace Odom and her husband, Armond, of Teneha, and Louise Ward and her husband, Orville, of Spring, Texas. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews and other extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Mary Solise; brothers, Henry Solise, Richard Solis and Clayton Solise; and by his sisters, Mary Hardwick and Anne Deem. Pallbearers for Mr. Solise will include Greg Solise, Wayne Solise, James Solise, Jeff Porter, Gene Porter and Preston Solise. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund or to the Moral Cemetery Association. The family of Mr. Solise is being served by Laird Funeral Home.
