Funeral services for Mrs. Leslie Ann Still Adams, 44, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Hipps officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Our world has been made sad but Heaven's gate was thrown open wide, on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Arlington Memorial Hospital, when Leslie left this world to be with her Heavenly Father. God has freed her body of the devastation caused by lupus and its complications. Leslie was born on Jan. 27, 1970, at Memorial Hospital, Nacogdoches. She attended Fredonia Hill Baptist Academy K-5th grade. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1988. She attended Stephen F. Austin, and then moved to Dallas where she worked for the Office of Homeland Security in accounting for 25 years. Even after open heart surgery in 2000, her heart was made even stronger for always being thoughtful in sending friendly notes or sending flowers. She had a very special gift for thinking of others in their time of need. We mourn and are sorrowful over the seemingly premature loss of Leslie; however, the Lord's promises are new each morning, and we will not allow our sorrow to overshadow the joy of having her for 44 years. God gave the Still family a great blessing in Leslie, and we will praise Him for the time with her and not begrudge our Heavenly Father for the time we had her not. Because of the complications she endured she wasn't blessed with children, so she babied her dog, Olivia, and cat, Sophia. Leslie's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John and Lucille (Walton) Still and Howard and Donna Ward, all from Kilgore, preceded her in death. She is survived by husband, Gary Adams, of Arlington; parents, Chris and Joanne Englert of Nacogdoches; Chester and Belinda Still of Jacksonville; brother, Greg Still, and wife, Anna, of Nacogdoches; nephews, Casey and D.J. Quiram of Nacogdoches; uncle, Wayne Ward and wife, Judy, of Grapevine; cousins, Laura Patterson, Leigh Ward and Sara Huerta of Austin; uncle, J.W. Still and wife, Cathy, of La Porte; cousins, Neely Wybaczynsky of Austin, and Craig Still of Houston. Pallbearers will serve be Eric Southwell, Rick West, Casey Still, James Deal, J.W. Still and Craig Still. Honorary pallbearer will be D.J. Quiram. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to: Nacogdoches Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 635030, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963; , 1330 W. Peachtree Stree, Atlanta, Ga. 30309; Lupus Foundation of Minnesota, The Atrium Suite 135, 2626 East 82nd Street, Bloomington, Minn. 55425; or the .
