Funeral services for Mr. James Richard Babbitt, 48, of Nacogdoches will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home. Mr. Babbitt passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home. James was born on Nov. 14, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Mr. Rick Babbitt and Ms. Glenda Collins. He grew up in Fort Wayne and attended school there also. James graduated Fort Wayne High School in 1984. He later moved to Texas and settled down in Angelina County. James was employed with Xerox, where he worked for 24 years. James met his wife, Robbi LeAndrea Davis, in Nacogdoches. They were happily married on Jan. 6, 2012. James had many hobbies that kept him busy but he enjoyed them very much. He enjoyed going hunting with his friends and he enjoyed his farm animals. He started a small farm of his own with his wife, Robbi. They had chickens, ducks, horses, and raised Rottweilers. James also had a pet pig by the name of "Pork Chop" on his farm. James also loved spending time with his family. He was a loyal member of the Nacogdoches Church of Christ on Highway 21 West. James is survived by his loving wife, Robbi LeAndrea Babbitt; father, Rick Babbitt; mother, Glenda Collins; daughters, Jacquelyn "Nikki" Babbitt, Whitney Eaden and husband, Patrick, Courtneey Williams and husband, Jabara, and Autumn Duke and husband, Kullen; sisters, Kris Pickelheimer and husband, Doug, and Amy Portee; grandchildren, Mason, Morgan, Matthew, Jabara II and Kinsley.
