Audrey Burt, age 82, passed away Thursday August 12, 2010. Audrey was born June 10, 1928, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to Virgil Boatman and Cora Curbow Boatman. Audrey married Edward O. Burt on May 16, 1946. In the early 1950s Audrey, Edward and their three children moved to Tucson, Arizona. After moving to Arizona Audrey began a career in restaurant management. Following years of restaurant management Audrey made a change of careers in the early 1970's. Audrey dedicated the remainder of her years to helping others as a health care worker. Audrey and Edward moved back to Nacogdoches County in 1986 where Audrey began working at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Audrey worked at Nacogdoches Medical Center until health issues forced her to retire in 2008. Audrey is survived by her son Edward Harrol; daughter Mollie Annett; son-in-law Robert Irvin Sr.; daughter-in-law Charlene Burt; grandchildren: Steven Burt (wife-Tiffany), James Tipton (wife-Jaime), Stacey Burt, Raeanne Burt Love (husband- Scott), Christine Gibson (husband-Richie), Michael Burt, Sherry Burt Kested (husband- Jason), Maranda Burt; great grandchildren: Cody Westbrook, Ashley Hefton, Lauren Hefton, Jacob Westbrook, Casey Tipton, Isabel Tipton, Brittany Burt, Brandy Burt, Brooke Burt, Bailee Burt, Hannah Campanella/Tipton, Michael Campanella/Tipton, Kyle Love, Amberleigh Love, Morgan Christian, Peyton Gibson and Carly Irvin. Audrey is also survived by her sisters Wanda Chenoweth and Bobbie Hartless as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Audrey was preceded in death by Edward, her husband of 61 years, her son Don Howard, son-in-law James L. Tipton, brother C.W. Boatman, sister Irene Buckaloo, sister Mildred Nettles and sister Betty Stanley. Audrey was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose love touched several generations. Audrey epitomized the meaning of a true matriarch as she helped raise three generations of her descendents. The world is a little sadder with the loss of such a warm and caring woman, Audrey will be missed greatly. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010, at 10:00 am at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. James Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Libby Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Laird Funeral Home. Laird Funeral Home
