A funeral service for Donald "Don" Ray Corley, 72, will be at 4 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel located at 5400 North St. Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery. Don passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the family farm in Nacogdoches. He was born November 3, 1938. He was a graduate of Central Heights High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He was a dairyman for 35 years and still loved farming and gardening. He was a lifelong member of Bonita United Methodist Church where he served with great joy in many capacities. He was very active in his community, with service in the volunteer fire department, Central Heights School Board of Trustees and other organizations. Most of all, he loved working with his children and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Lucille Parmley Corley; and sisters, Jean Crank, Betty Jones and Nell Haubold. He was also preceded in death by nephews, Greg Haubold and Jeff Jones. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Hurst Corley; and three children, Dorina Corley Fountain, Richard Corley and Dale (and wife, Missy) Corley. He is survived by brother, George Campbell Corley; and sister, Nancy Corley Dorsett; brother-in-law Joe Hurst ;and sister-in-law Ardath Hurst Mayhar. He has six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him.
