Did Margaret Hillert go by Marge, and did she live in Arizona for a short period of time?
If so, she was a dear friend/neighbor of mine. I only knew her by Marge, she lived in the apartment below mine for a short time. I would always run out to help her with her bags. She told me she wrote children's books and was a literature teacher. Her favorite animal was a puffin. She told me about her yellow lab who passed away, I believe her name was Maggie. She moved away and I never got a chance to say thank you or goodbye.
I did compose a poem about puffins with a hand drawn image of puffins on a cliff which I gifted her.

If this is the Marge, ive been searching for I would love nothing more than to pay my respects. My name is Marlene Ace.

I am a librarian at a small school in SE Kansas and I wanted to send a small note to say that Margaret's books are truly a blessing and so very helpful for our school library. I just reordered several of her books and I know the children will be checking them out frequently. I like to use her books for Kindergarten readers especially and also my first graders enjoy them as well.

Margaret was a great lady and her books will be cherished for years to come.

Sincerely,
Rhonda Ames

I taught kindergarten for years and then was a library media specialist. Ms. Hillert's books brought such joy to young children, because they could actually read a real book!
