Zimmerman, Richard Hutchins* - Pontiac  
Zimmerman, Richard Hutchins; age 80; died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 22. 2015. Richard was born in Pontiac, Michigan, to his parents, George Koenig Zimmerman and Helen Hutchins Zimmerman. He attended Pontiac schools and the University of Michigan. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. In 1961, he married Barbara (Abrahamson), his loving wife of 54 years. Above all, Richard was a family man. He cherished his two sons, Kurt and John, his daughters-in-law, Patricia (Hooley) and Jennifer (Hoeft), and his five grandchildren, Madeline, Charles, Conor, Ryan and Kathryn. Richard enjoyed greatly his many friends. He was a lifelong fan of University of Michigan athletics. He served in various community and charitable organizations. He took joy in golfing at Stonycroft Hills Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI and Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The family will receive friends at Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. Internment will be at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, MI. Zatkoff, Lawrence Paul* - Macomb County  
Zatkoff, The Honorable Lawrence Paul, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. At the time of his death, he was serving as a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. He was appointed as a United States District Judge by President Ronald Reagan and was sworn in on June 6, 1986. During his 28 years on the federal bench, he presided in Detroit for 18 years before re-establishing the Court’s presence in Port Huron for the past 10 years. He served as the Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Michigan for seven years, and he also served on the Judicial Conference of the United States, including a term as the Chairman of the Committee on Judicial Security. Prior to being appointed to the United States District Court, Judge Zatkoff served eight years as a Circuit Judge and Probate Judge for the County of Macomb, commencing in 1978. Before his nearly 40 years on the bench, Judge Zatkoff practiced law in Detroit and Macomb County, he served briefly as an assistant prosecuting attorney, and he taught at the Detroit College of Law. He graduated from the University of Detroit in 1962 and from the Detroit College of Law, cum laude, in 1966, while working full-time at the Chrysler Corporation. Judge Zatkoff is survived by his loving wife, Kelly, his children Catherine (Mike), Joseph and Mary Elizabeth as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence Jr. Visitation Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday 3-8 p.m. at the Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores. Instate Wednesday 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the time of the funeral service at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1100 Lone Pine Road (at Telegraph), Bloomfield Hills. Interment White Chapel Cemetery. Zaffarano, Dolores* - Macomb  
Zaffarano, Dolores (nee Fouch), age 91, of Macomb, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at home. Dolores, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Resided in Mt. Clemens for 60 years. She worked at Grosse Pointe Yacht Club and Hillcrest Country Club for many years. She was an avid antique dealer for more than 25 years. Dolores retired to Lexington, Mich. where she and her husband owned and operated Main Street Antiques for 10 years. She enjoyed family gatherings, bowling and Bingo. Dolores spent many pleasurable hours creating beautiful handkerchief quilts for her family. She was predeceased by her husband John of 58 years. Surviving are her children Denise Callis, Sharon (Dale) DeClark, Shelly (Robert) Maas, John (Christine) Zaffarano; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held in the spring. Final burial will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich. Arrangements by Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home. Zarate, Anquilina “Kila”, age 79, of New Baltimore, formerly of Armada died January 18, 2015. Kila was one of ten children of Manuel and Josefa Arizmendi. She was a custodian for Armada High School retiring in 1996. Kila is survived by her son, Marco Antonio (Suzanne Chojnacki) Zarate; grandchildren, Marco Genaro Zarate and Isabella Grace Zarate; two brothers and two sisters.
