ROSEMARY JANE HOOD

HOOD,ROSEMARY JANE Age 78, a long time resident of Royal Oak, died October 5, 2013. She was born August 6, 1935 in Detroit to Darrell D. and Mary Jane (Zink) Porter. Mrs. Hood was an executive secretary at General Motors headquarters, the largest corporation in the world at the time. After marriage she attended Calvary Temple and later Royal Oak Missionary Church. Surviving are her children, Charles D. Hood and his fiancee Mae-Lynn Hobgood both of Royal Oak, and Rosemary's daughter Laura A. Garvin and her husband Robert R. Garvin, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and their daughter, Lilia M. Garvin. Rosemary's husband, Harold Lee Hood, whom she married August 1, 1959 in Detroit died August 16, 2001. Throughout, most of her life, she was a beautiful pianist. She was involved in civic groups, the Royal Oak Women's Historical Guild, the Royal Oak Historical Society, R.O. Beautification Council, etc. She was a Girl Scout troop leader. Later in life, she loved watching birds. She was a very kind and caring person. She will be missed. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. Service Saturday 11 a.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S.
