Eileen Marie Madigan Fritsch Obituary
Eileen Marie Madigan Fritsch. Beloved matriarch of the Madigan family, died October 27, 2012 in Royal Oak, Mich., of natural causes. She was born May 30, 1926 in Flint, Mich. Eileen married May 2, 1952. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Edward Fritsch. She is survived by her children, William (Nancy), Thomas (Kelly), James (Debra), Mary Ellen, Michael (Lisa), David (Lorelle); grandchildren, Kristen, Alex, Timothy, Matthew, Nicholas, Patrick, Zachary, Elizabeth, Tyler, Gina, Christopher, Brandon, May; great-granddaughters Nadia and Gabrielle; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eileen graduated from St. Mary's High School in Royal Oak and attended Michigan State University. She was generous with her time and treasure and was very involved in making her community a better place. Among her numerous activities, she was a Providence Hospital volunteer for 27 years; active with the Friends of the Berkley Library; a longtime member of Our Lady of La Salette parish - Eucharist Minister, Cantor, Lector, teaching 2nd grade communion preparation, past president of Berkley School District PTA, and active in community musicals, book clubs, bowling leagues and associations. Eileen had her own style. She loved accessorizing her wardrobe, wearing hats, singing, traveling, and reading stories to her grandchildren. She was proud of her ability to find the shortest route with the least number of traffic stops. Eileen supported many local charities. Please consider giving to the Friends of the Berkley Library, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of La Salette, or the American Red Cross in lieu of flowers. Memorial visitation Saturday, November 17, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of La Salette Church, 2219 Coolidge Highway, Berkley 48072, Memorial Mass 11 a.m.
