Jane Carpenter Obituary
Jane Carpenter, age 86, a life-long resident of Royal Oak, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born June 14, 1926 in Royal Oak to Milo and Agnes Carpenter. Jane graduated from Royal Oak High in 1944 and Albion College in 1948. She was a teacher in the Royal Oak school system for over 30 years and a member of the Oakland Chapter of M.A.R.S.P. and the Detroit Zoological Society. As a lover of the Arts, she regularly attended performances of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Meadowbrook Theatre and the Metropolitan Opera Live. She and her longtime friend, Phyllis Hassberger of Royal Oak, traveled the world together for almost 50 years. Other survivors include her many friends and former students and their parents. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Carpenter. Memorial visitation Friday, 2-8 p.m. Memorial Service Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S.
