Mr. Donald R. Bush Obituary
Donald R. Bush, age 89 (almost 90), a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, died February 7, 2013 peacefully at his home with family. He was born April 10, 1923 in Detroit, Mich. Son of the late Everett and Leah Bush. Brother of the late Richard Bush. Graduated from Royal Oak High School in June 1941. Don was an apprentice at Ford Motor Company for 1½ years. WWII veteran from 1943-1946. He saw action in Germany and Austria with General Patton's 3rd Army. He graduated from Lawrence Tech University in 1951 as an Industrial Engineer. Married the late Bette Davis in 1952. Retired from Fisher Body division of General Motors in 1984 after 29 years. He belonged to VFW post 1669 as a lifetime member and also American Legion Post 253. As a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak he served as a deacon, trustee, and elder. Among his survivors are his son Donald R., Jr. (Joan) and daughter Susan Carlin (William), grandsons; Michael Charles, William Carlin, Jr., granddaughter; Amy Krchmar (Michael) and great-grandchildren, Kayleigh and Michael as well as his precious cat Olive. Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (between 13-14 Mile), Sunday 4-8 p.m. Memorial Service Monday 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 529 Hendrie Blvd., Royal Oak.
