Winfred J. "Bosco" Johnson
Opelousas - A Funeral Service for Winfred J. Johnson, age 81, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bayou Jack Cemetery. Bro. Benji Richard will officiate the service. Winfred was a resident of Opelousas. He died on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System. He loved to hunt, race horses, take care of his dogs, and visit with family and friends. He never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Dickie Johnson of Opelousas, Kenny Johnson and his wife, Gwen of Scott, Lionel Johnson of Marksvile, and Rickie Johnson and his wife, Gwen of Morrow, daughter, Brenda Young of Opelousas, step daughter, Bonnie Willingham of Opelousas, brother, Johnny Johnson of Kenner, sisters, Melba Hargroder and Tot Johnson both of Opelousas, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. Johnson, his parents, Neg and Nina Quinty Johnson, and his daughter, Sharon Baham, and one grandson, Danny Willingham, his brother, Roland Johnson, and his sister, Drucilla Schexneider.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, March 29, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Words of Comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.
