Coleman, George  
George Franklin Coleman Eunice - It is with heavy hearts that the family of George "Frog" Franklin Coleman announces his passing with loving family by his side. He was 68. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Monsignor Robert Romero Celebrant. George graduated from Eunice High School in 1966 and enlisted in the US Navy the same year. He completed Navy Shipfitter A School in 1967 with Class 670B. Served in the Vietnam War from 1967 thru 1970 on the USS Ajax (AR-6) and the USS Jason (AR-8). During that time he received a letter of appreciation for making repairs on the USS Brule (AKL-28) while it was stranded in inland Vietnam waterways. Following his time in the service he worked as a commercial building sprinkler fitter in south Louisiana and Texas and then as an oil and gas pipeline QA/QC inspector all across the United States and overseas. He was a member of the VFW and local union 669. George known to many as "Frog" was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two sons, William Chad Coleman of Eunice and Matthew George Coleman of Houston; two brothers, John Wesley Coleman and wife, Bonnie of Sulphur and James "Ty" Coleman and wife, Debbie of Waxahachie, TX; a sister, Sedonia "Syd" Michelli and husband, Gene of Pride, LA; his six grandchildren, Jackson Walker and Orrin Luke Coleman, Kadyn Alyse Grayson, Johna Margaret, Easten Matthew and Sabey Hope Coleman; as well as extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Margaret Ann Fontenot Coleman; parents, Oscar "Slim" and Virginia "Tootsie" Savoy Coleman; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Coleman. At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, May 27th from 12 noon until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, May 28th from 8:00 am until time of services. Darold Hebert ARNAUDVILLE - A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville, for Darold Hebert, 87, who passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, MS. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Saturday, and continue on Sunday at 7:00 am until the funeral service at 2:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Saturday. Pastor Rodney Chitwood will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Darold was born in Arnaudville, LA to the late Regis and Rose Guidry Hebert. He was a Dredge Boat Captain for 45 years. Darold enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 32 years, Martha Joanne Hebert; children, Wilda, Darrell "Jim", Sandra, Carl, Tommie, and Cheryl; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ella. He was preceded in death by first wife of 37 years, Nola Mae Hebert; his son, Randy and his sister, Esther. Pallbearers will be Darrell "Jim", Carl, Tommie, Randy, Clay and Al Hebert. Grace Roy Opelousas - Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Grace LeBlanc Roy will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Landry Catholic Church of Opelousas, LA. Fr. James Brady will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Mrs. Roy was a native of Grand Coteau and a resident of Opelousas. She died on May 26, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She enjoyed reading, playing Solitaire, gardening, and cooking. She also cherished spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Alban Soileau of Opelousas; and Roy Del Soileau and wife, Lisa of Opelousas; grandchildren, Nicole Devillier and husband, Steven of Opelousas; Monique Fruge and husband, Rufus of Lawtell; Jessica Breaux and husband, Russell of Port Barre; Amanda Wheeler and husband, Jared of Opelousas; and Samuel Soileau and wife, Ashley of Port Barre; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her dog, "Precious Angel." She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel LeBlanc and Ava Kidder. Pallbearers will be Steven Devilllier, Rufus Fruge, Russell Breaux, Ricky Brown, Mark Stoute, and Mitchell Devillier. Honorary pallbearers will be Alban Soileau, Roy Del Soileau, and Alex Savage. Visitation and viewing will begin on Friday, May 27, 2016, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with an all-night wake until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. Henry Smith, Jr. OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Sunset for Henry Smith, Jr., age 72, who passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 6:00 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Zion Travelers Baptist Cemetery in Sunset. Pastor Tony Gibson, pastor of Zion Travelers Baptist Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas. He was a fun and outgoing man who loved hosting large gatherings at his home and spending time with his family and friends. Henry was very generous and enjoyed helping in the community. He also enjoyed raising livestock. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Lois Colligan Smith; four sons, Kevin Smith and wife, Gloria, of Opelousas, Michael Smith and wife, Bernice, of Sunset, and Kenneth Smith and Christopher Smith, both of Opelousas; two brothers, Lee Roy Smith, Sr. and wife, Isabella, of Houston and Wilfred Smith and wife, Cora, of New Orleans; two sisters, Elizabeth Foster and Anna Mae Zerangue and husband, Leo, all of Houston; six grandchildren, Toria Smith, Tiffani Smith and Tristin Smith, all of Opelousas, Tess Smith of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, Ravielle Davis and husband, Alex, Aaliyeh Lavergne and Serenity Lavergne, all of Sunset; two great-grandchildren, Colston Davis and Alexis Davis, both of Sunset; and his special friends, Paul Jordan, Donald Gotch, Paul Auzenne, Kenneth Davis, Charles Eaglin and Ricky Melancon. Clifford M. Hebert, Sr. PORT BARRE - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Landry Catholic Church for Clifford M. Hebert, Sr., age 80, who passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at 7:33 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas. Interment will be in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery in Port Barre. Father James Brady, pastor of St. Landry Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mr. Hebert was a native and lifelong resident of Port Barre. He was a self-employed farmer, growing mostly soy beans and rice. He also worked for the St. Landry Parish School Board, as a bus driver for the handicap, where he retired after 25 years of service. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church for the past 5 years. Clifford made his Cursillo in 1964 and worked as a Rector in the Cursillo Movement for 36 years. Mr. Hebert served in the 156th Infantry Brigade, 2nd Battalion, of the Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Margie Devillier Hebert; four daughters, Pam Hebert Tate of Lake Charles, Patricia Blumrich of Carencro, Bridget Hebert of Opelousas and Kim LeDoux and husband, Murphy, of Washington; two sons, Deacon Mitch Hebert and wife, Angela, of Port Barre, and Damian Hebert and wife, Tiffany, of Opelousas; two brothers, Ray Hebert of Port Barre, and Nolan Hebert of Opelousas; one sister, Georgia LaHaye of Port Barre; thirty six grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jean Hebert and the former Eliza LeBlanc; one brother, Patrick Hebert; and two sisters, Rose Mae Melancon and Rita Richard.
