Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mercy Church in Opelousas for Albert Boudreaux, Jr., age 76, who passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his residence in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Paul Bienvenue, pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Boudreaux was a native and resident of Opelousas and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Opelousas. He retired after having worked twenty five years for the Daily World and Gannett newspaper.
Survivors include four sons, Dickie Boudreaux of Opelousas, Randy Boudreaux and his wife, Amanda, of Lake Charles, Dennis Boudreaux and his wife, Judy, of Opelousas, and Troy Boudreaux of Lake Charles; one daughter, Tanya Bellard and her husband, Daniel, of Opelousas; one sister, Shirley Savoy of Lake Charles; eleven grandchildren, Kristin Boudreaux, Derek Boudreaux, Scott Boudreaux, Brock Boudreaux, Nicholas Boudreaux, Taylor Bellard, Dameian Boudreaux, Kaleb Bellard, Renee Boudreaux, Jacob Bellard, and Daliah Boudreaux; and one great grandson, Landon Benoit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Boudreaux, Sr. and the former Eva Placite; two sons, Bobby Boudreaux and Tracy Boudreaux; one brother, Chester Boudreaux; and one sister, Dunice "Toot" Dukes.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Rev. Paul Bienvenue.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
