James Michael Soileau

PORT BARRE - Memorial services for Mr. James Michael Soileau, known to many as "Mike," will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Three Mile Lake (Frank McGee's Camp) in Port Barre.

Mr. Soileau was a native of Eunice and a lifelong resident of Port Barre, LA. He passed away at Lafayette General Medical Center on Monday, November 4, 2013, at the age of 66.

He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was also the owner of Mike's Handyman Service. He did plumbing and electrical work for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and being with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 334 of Port Barre.

He is survived by his three sons, James Donald "Donny" Soileau and wife, Jaime of Mamou; Richard Paul Soileau and wife, Jennifer of Ville Platte; and Justin Trevor Soileau of Mamou; one daughter, Shauna Leah Soileau and fiancé, Brian James Satterwhite of Denham Springs; two brothers, John Soileau of Jasper, TX; and Jeffery Soileau of Oberlin; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Soileau and Eva Celeste McGee Soileau; and one sister, Brenda Soileau Broussard.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
