OPELOUSAS - Private services will be held at a later date and time for Kenneth Foret, age 72, who passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.
Mr. Foret was a native of Tate Cove and lived most of his life in Opelousas. He retired from Union National Life Insurance Company in 2000 after thirty-one years of service. Mr. Foret was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Navy
from 1959-1962. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge # 1048. Mr. Foret loved to hunt, fish and cook for his family. He was an avid LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan.
Survivors include his wife of fifty two years, Dianna Deshotels Foret of Opelousas; three daughters, Debbie Byrom and her husband, Kenny, of Carencro, Sondra Foret and Stacy Quebedeaux, both of Opelousas; five grandchildren, Brandi Trahan and her husband, Daniel, Eric Byrom, Amanda Foret, Kyle Quebedeaux and Jacob Quebedeaux; five great grandchildren; two nephews, John Foret and Eddie Foret; and one niece, Julia Deshotels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edison Foret and the former Lucille Ortego, both natives of Tate Cove; one brother, Burvick Foret; and an infant sister.
