Percy Fontenot(1920 - 2011)

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte with interment in the Gate of Heaven Mousoleum. Mr. Fontenot passed away January 2, 2011 at his retirement home at his beloved Cazan's Lake with his family by his side.

The Reverend Gene Treme will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass.

Survivors include his sons, Carl W. Fontenot and his wife Gayle of Ville Platte, Darwin Fontenot and his wife Jennifer of Lafayette, David Fontenot and his wife Margaretta of Ville Platte, his daughter, Anita F. Melancon and her husband Reverend Martin L. Melancon of Lafayette, a sister, Hazel Vidrine of Vidrine, eleven grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wives Geraldine Guillory Fontenot, and Elsie Mae Sonnier Fontenot, a daughter Marca Joan Fontenot, and two brothers, J.C. Fontenot, and Nelson Fontenot.

Visiting hours will be 4p.m. to 9p.m. Tuesday, and 8a.m. to service time Wednesday. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be C.J. Bogard, and Scotty Fontenot.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to Ewell Roy, Scotty Fontenot, and Ernest Bordelon for their care and compassion throughout his illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart School Foundation, 114 Trojan Lane, Ville Platte LA 70586 or charity of choice.
