Avie Charles Bordelon AC

OPELOUSAS - Avie Charles Bordelon AC, passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He was 93.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Ollie; his son, Charles; his parents, Avie and Helen Poulet Bordelon; brothers, Robert Bordelon, James Bordelon, and Francis Bordelon and his wife, Helen Carrier Bordelon; and one sister, Helen Marie Bordelon Brown and her husband, Maurice Brown; his brother-in-law, Frederick Dupre.

Survived by two children, daughter, Carol Ann Trahan, and son, David; one brother, Donald E. Bordelon and his wife Jackie David Bordelon; one sister, Alice Evelyn Bordelon Dupre; three grandchildren, Maline Rees and her husband, Dr. Steve Rees, Ann Morgan Trahan Dunn and her husband, Patrick, and Robert Trahan and his wife, Kirsten; and seven great grandchildren.

Charles was a member of the USAF WWII and a graduate of Springhill College.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas.
