Ivy Dupre Obituary

A word service will be held Monday, September 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas for Ivy Dupre, age 93, the former Ivy Manuel, who passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. The Rev. Msgr. Paul Metrejean will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Dupre was a native of Chataignier and a resident of Opelousas.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Dupre of Ville Platte; one sister, Audrey Hebert of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Chad Mitchell Dupre and Christopher Keith Dupre; and four great grandchildren, Ian Pitre, Destin Pitre, Caymin Pitre, and Katelyn Dupre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verbert Dupre; and her parents, Archile Manuel and the former Leah Ardoin.
A rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
