OPELOUSAS - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas for Mr. Alphonse "Billy" Frilot, 74, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his residence in Opelousas. Interment will be in St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Frilot Cove.
Father Monsignour DeRouen will be officiating the funeral services.
Mr. Frilot was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was Chairman of Krotz Springs Port Commission; Foundering Member of Agro Men of St. Landry Parish; Deputy Marshall of the City of Opelousas Marshall's Office; and a member of Knights of Peter Claver Third and Fourth Degree. Mr. Frilot retired from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office as Chief Deputy. Prior to retiring from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Department, he served as a police officer with the City of Opelousas Police Department.
Mr. Frilot is survived by: his wife, Daisy Darbonne Frilot of Opelousas; one son, Damian Frilot of Opelousas; one daughter, Alyce Frilot of Opelousas; one sister, Alveretta Ledet of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Maximillion, Saxton and Seegan; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clifford and Inez Guidry Frilot, Sr.; one brother, Clifford Frilot, Jr.; and three sisters, Albertha Elliott, Lois Lemelle and Veronica Lachapelle.
Visitation will be observed from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 11:45 a.m. at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with the rosary being recited at 11:45 a.m. Words of acknowledgment and expressions will be shared from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
