OPELOUSAS - The family and friends of LaChandra Michelle Leday-Fenceroy are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called to her Heavenly Father at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Monday, March 4, 2013. LaChandra was surrounded by the love and laughter of her dear mother, Frances Murphy-Leday and supportive daughters, Alexandrea and Kristeney Fenceroy up until the time of her departure. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 10:30 A.M., at Starlight Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. LaChandra will be laid to rest at the Starlight Baptist Church Cemetery following the services.

LaChandra was born in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Roosevelt Leday, Sr. and Frances Murphy Leday on September 8, 1966. She worked as a senior IT Specialist Web Developer. She loved spending time with her family, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, as well as playing and watching sports. She was an active member of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. LaChandra was recently celebrated and inducted into the Grambling Legends Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as a basketball star at Grambling State University. She also served as the secretary of Grambling Legends.

LaChandra was generous and loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend to all. She will be truly missed by everyone who was blessed to have her in their lives. LaChandra is survived by her beloved mother, Frances Murphy-Leday of Opelousas; her two beautiful daughters, Alexandrea LeChelle and Kristeney MiChelle of Forney, Texas; her dear brother, Roosevelt Leday, Jr. of Houston, Texas; her devoted niece and godchild, Whitney De'Meshielle Leday of Houston, Texas; two great aunts, Lou Bertha Johnson of Lake Charles, LA and Vivian Hayes of Opelousas, LA and her godfather, Arthur Thierry of Opelousas, LA. She leaves to mourn a host of uncles, aunts, relatives, friends, and husband, Charles Fenceroy.

LaChandra now rests in heaven with her beloved family who preceded her death; her father, Roosevelt "Papa Bell" Leday, Sr.; her sister-in-law, Donna M.W. Leday; her niece, Te'ylor L. Leday; her maternal grandparents, Willie and Lillian Murphy; her paternal grandparents, Reverend Atkins and Lelia Thierry Leday and godmother, Elretha Leday Aaron.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Starlight Baptist Church. An Ivy Beyond the Wall service will be held following visitation by the Lambda Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Words of expressions can be expressed at
