OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Harold Hidalgo at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Reverend Austin Leger will Celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mr. Hidalgo, age 74, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Monday, March 31, 2014, at his residence.

Harold will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Deanna Manuel Hidalgo; his sons, Kevin Hidalgo and wife, Sandra; Troy Hidalgo; Darren Hidalgo and wife, Melissa; Parrish Hidalgo and wife, Brandy; his brothers, Ray Hidalgo and wife, Peggy; Lynwood "Duke" Hidalgo and his sister, Mrs. Gayle Fontenot and husband, Raphael. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Alex Hidalgo, Haley Hidalgo, Natalie Hidalgo, Paul Hidalgo, Brent Trosclair, Brooke Pena' and three great-grandchildren, Michael Trosclair, Taylen Trosclair and Jude Pena'.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Millian Lafleur Hidalgo; his sons, Brandon Hidalgo, Albert "Ponch" Pridgen and his brother, Gerald Hidalgo.

Visitation was held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A Rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
