LEMOYEN - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Luke Baptist Church in Lemoyen, LA for Markell Pyke, 24, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Opelousas General Health System.
Interment will be in the church cemetery. Bishop Melvin Jackson officiating.
Markell is survived by his mother, Helen Eaglin and her husband, Terry Eaglin of Beggs, LA; one son, Deldrick Kerry of Melville, LA; one daughter, Maliyah Lewis of Opelousas, LA; two brothers, Darrell Pyke of Morrow, LA and D' Andre Pyke of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Shaquan Pyke-Rubin of Alexandria, LA and Ashley Pyke of Palmetto, LA; maternal grandfather, Marshall Edwards Jr. of Lemoyen and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Markell was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Pyke; his stepfather, Joseph Brown, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Margaret Pyke Anderson; maternal grandmother, Lorena L. Edwards, and one uncle, Michael Edwards.
Visiting hours will be observed from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Luke Baptist Church in Lemoyen.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Williams Funeral Home of Opelousas, 817 E. South St., 337-942-2037
