Roy Joseph Soileau

BUNKIE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Roy Joseph Soileau on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Fr. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Cason Family Cemetery in Big Cane under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Soileau, age 81, of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was an employee of American Can Company until it closed and then became self-employed. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Soileau; his daughter, Jeanne Soileau Kimble and grandson, Nicholas Kimble.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Genevieve Cason Soileau of Bunkie; one daughter, Julie Soileau Bell and husband, Jack, of Hornbeck, LA; a son-in-law, Keith Kimble of St. Rose, LA and grandchildren Philip Bell, Gilliin Kimble, Gabrielle Kimble and Olivia Bell.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Randy Soileau, Troy Soileau, Lyle Soileau, Kerry Soileau, Charles Cason, Keith Kimble, Jack Bell and Philip Bell.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. www.melanconfunerals.com
