Victoria Malbrue Obituary
SUNSET - Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Victoria M. Malbrue, age 91, the former Victoria Moore, who passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Opelousas.
Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Rev. Clyde LeBlanc, SJ of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will officiate at the services. Readers will be Sarah Malbrue and Donna Davidson. Giftbearers will be Betty Monroe and Vondavia Douresseaux.
Mrs. Malbrue was a native Shuteston and a resident of Sunset. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.
Survivors include one son, Glenn David Malbrue, Sr. and his wife, Sarah; one daughter, Barbara Malbrue; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Malbrue and Charlene Malbrue all of Sunset; thirty-three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Malbrue, Jr.; two sons, Joseph Sherman Malbrue and James Anthony Malbrue; her parents, Clarence Moore and the former Elma Brown; four brothers, A.B. Moore, Marshal Moore, Joseph "Ludren" Moore and Joseph "Curley" Moore; and four sisters, Myrtle Smith, Bertha Hebry, Viola Broussard and Elizabeth Colligan.
A rosary will be prayed at 11: 00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Danny Kennerson, Kyle Douresseaux, Randy Lessien, Alex Monroe, David Malbrue, Sr., Ronald Wilson, Corey Malbrue and James Malbrue, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Colligan, Jr., John Smith, Jerry Sanders, Robert Smith, Gabriel Charlot, Peter Manuel, Kenneth Smith, Danny Monroe, Kevin Smith, Christopher Smith, Donald Charlot, Larry Eaglin, Ezekiel Smith, Terry Monroe and Michael Smith.
