Liskow, Frederic C. "Ric" Frederic C. "Ric" Liskow, born April 26, 1960, died February 14, 2011. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend. Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ric was the only child of George W. Liskow and Geraldine Wallace Liskow. He graduated from Rice University in 1982 and from SMU Law School in 1986. An accomplished corporate attorney, Ric worked for the Associates Corporation and City Group before joining Kinko's (now FedEx Office) as vice president and deputy general counsel in March 2002. He was promoted to senior vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary in April 2003. When nominating Ric for Best Corporate Counsel 2010, FedEx Office CEO Brian Philips wrote, "During his tenure with the company, Ric has played a major role in several high profile and strategic business matters and has provided legal support for a complete range of corporate activities - from mergers and acquisitions and real estate transactions contract implementation and litigation." "Ric is a great business attorney. He has a keen understanding of the business and is able to provide insight not just from a legal perspective but from a business perspective as well. He understands how to win the important points and move beyond the trivial. He is incredibly honest, straightforward, and ethical. Ric is a true business partner and is always available to help offer counsel and mitigate risks." Despite his significant professional accomplishments, Ric Liskow's greatest passion was for his family. He delighted in organizing family scuba-diving vacations and the annual father-daughter birthday trips with Mattie, Hallie and Annie. He and wife Beth frequently entertained friends and family with Ric's exceptional cooking always at the center of the festivities. At home he was known to work off tension, awake the family early on weekend mornings, and just plain have fun playing the blues on one of his many vintage guitars. He was deeply loved and is fiercely missed by his many friends and colleagues, and most of all by his beloved wife Beth, his children Mattie, Hallie and Annie Liskow and their mother, as well as his step-daughters Catilin and Ashlyn Dow, his sister Katharine Harrington, and his brother West Harrington. A celebration of Ric Liskow's life will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Sparkman-Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be sent to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program of Dallas, Texas.
