McDowell, Frank A. Frank A. McDowell, beloved husband & father, after a struggle with pancreatic cancer, passed away Nov. 13, 2011 surrounded by his family at home. He was born April 28, 1944 in Midland, Michigan, the son of Robert James McDowell, Sr. and Marie Inez (Briggs) McDowell. After 4 years of service in the US Air Force, he graduated in 1975 with a BBA and went on to work several years in manufacturing and 32 years in the computer software industry as a consultant. An avid reader, Mr. McDowell enjoyed traveling, especially cruising. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lee Fike McDowell; daughter, Michelle Hoover & husband, Tim; son, Robert James McDowell, III; 3 step grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and was about to be blessed to become the grandfather of 4 adopted children, all of Texas. Also surviving are his mother, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 4 step siblings, many nieces, nephews and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Monday, November 28, 2011 at Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, 703 S. Greenville Ave, Allen, TX.
