James Lindsey Obituary

Lindsey, James William (Bill) James William "Bill" Lindsey passed away on September 27, 2013. Bill was born June 8, 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK, grew up in Dallas, attended North Dallas High School and served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. He married Marian R. Horton on February 15, 1945. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1949 and received his MLA degree from SMU in 1970. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired after 36 years. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church Dallas, TX since 1950. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Consuela Lindsey and Joyce Lindsey Ashton. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Marian, his children, daughter Diane Hartsfield and her husband Duane, son Duane Lindsey, daughter Dina Lindsey; his granddaughters, Mary and Marjorie Lindsey, his niece Lori Ashton Raley and her husband Bill and their sons Michael and Jason, nephew Wm. Lindsey Ashton, niece Boni Shaw and husband Doug and niece Teri Horton and lifelong friend Carol Gene Love and her family. A private memorial service was held to celebrate Bill's life. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice or to the SPCA of Dallas, TX.

Dear Daddy,
Taking care of Mom like you asked us too. Ginger is doing fine, but she misses you. She never leaves Mom's side, like a good doggy. There are no words for me to explain what life is like without you.
