Alva E. Johnston(1917 - 2013)

Johnston, Alva E. "Snookie" Alva E. "Snookie" Johnston, 96, passed away in Plano, Texas on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Snookie was born in Ennis, Texas on January 6, 1917 to Joseph T. and Emma E. (Bettis) Dandridge. She grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis Schools. On December 3, 1945 she married Everett Johnston and they made their home in Dallas, Texas. She worked for Collin's Radio on the assembly line. She was a member of the Ennis Rebekah Lodge #104. She loved her cats and enjoyed going to the horse races and casino. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including great-niece, Mindee O'Connell of Plano, great-nephew, Mike Dandridge of Dallas, great-niece, Michele Dandridge of New York: great-great-nieces and nephews: Nicole, Kristen, Courtnee and Chris. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Everett Johnston on February 18, 1969, three brothers, five sisters and nephew Glyn Dandridge. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on February 25, 2013 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
