Charles Gregory Yater

Yater, Charles Gregory Charles Gregory Yater, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends at his residence in Dallas, Texas. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to all he knew and loved. Greg was born on September 28, 1952 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Bobbie Yater. He graduated from W.W, Samuell High School in 1970 and continued his education at the University of Texas at Arlington where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He started working with his father at C.M.Yater Manufacturing Jewelry Company in downtown Dallas every summer during his school years. He ultimately worked at the company full time after college. Twenty years ago, the store moved to the Park Cities area and was renamed C.M. Yater and Sons Fine Jewelry Manufacturing. At the time of his death, Greg and his brother Mark were managing the corporation. Greg's family and career were his pride and joy. He especially enjoyed designing jewelry and making friends of all the customers. His favorite interests included numerous outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and golfing. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mills Yater. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Robin, daughter and son-in-law; Eren and David Campbell, grandchild, Jaden Campbell, son Cole Yater; mother, Bobbie Yater and brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Linda Yater and numerous other relatives. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A reception will follow services at Sparkman/ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
