Mrs. Pendery was one of the kindest and sweetest souls I ever knew.... she and her husband Harold were friends with my parents, Pat and Avalon Crane, starting way back in the 1960's. I can remember going to their apartment in Chicago when I was 3 or 4 - I literally knew them both my whole life. I even named a doll I had after Mr. Pendery.... His name was Harold and he was a ventriloquist doll....I'm not sure Mr. Pendery felt that was a honor.... but it was.
Mrs. Pendery was one of the closest friends my mother ever had.... They survived both husbands working for Armour Foods, Inc. - being transferred all over these United States and then they both worked for Sunday House Foods, Inc. out of Fredericksburg, Texas. I loved Mr. and Mrs. Pendery with all I had. My mother stopped hearing from Yvonne some years back and one of the sons had informed my parents that she was on hospice. My mom asked that they be kept informed to how she was doing but no one ever called my parents back. Over these holidays I did some research and found her obituary. I now have the heartbreaking task of informing my 88 year old mother that the best friend she ever had passed away in 2013. Mrs. Pendery was one of God's angels her on earth. I will forever think of the two of them often and with much love and wonderful memories.
