Carr, David Louis 69, of Rowlett, TX, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Gayle Carr for 44 years and giving father to his only son, Brandon. David was born on February 13, 1944, to the late Woodrow and Polly Carr in Dallas, Texas. David attended Bryan Adams High School and graduated from East Texas State University (Texas A&M University
at Commerce) with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1969. During this time he was also a member of the fraternity Kappa Alpha Order and the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1972. During his years in college, David wrote small poems for the love of his life, Gayle Bray. After graduation they married. He began his career with Xerox and eventually moved on to Victaulic where he served as a lead sales manager until he retired. While they were married, they had one son, Brandon. David had two sisters and one brother and several nieces and nephews. He loved to travel, enjoyed a good joke, and possessed a true passion for the game of golf. Upon retirement he volunteered part-time as a golf ambassador at the Waterview golf course. However, David will forever be known as a man who loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Bray Carr (Rowlett, TX); his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon Bray Carr and Christine Curtis-Carr (Abilene, TX); and his sister Donna McAnally (Dallas, TX). A memorial service will be held at Restland Memorial on Sunday, January 26, at 12:30 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
