Eustace Conwoop(1924 - 2014)

Conwoop, Eustace Eustace Conwoop was born on January 3, 1924 and left this earth on March 25, 2014. He was 90. He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma to parents, Gilbert Conwoop and Florence Codopony. He is preceeded in death by his loving wife of 42 year, Cecile Gray, his parents, brother Henry, who was killed in WW II, sisters Eleanor Wauahdooah, Delores Reza and younger brother Buddy Conwoop. Eustace was a full-blooded Comanche, who also served in WW II, in the Army Air Corps, where he was stationed at Grantham, England. Conwoop was a school teacher and football coach his entire life, helping many young people in both academics and athletics. He retired from teaching/coaching in 1988, but soon started another career. Coach Conwoop went to work in the scouting department of the Dallas Cowboys, where he worked under coaches Tom Landry to Bill Parcells. He attended three Super Bowls, where the Cowboys were all victorious and he received rings from each of those games from owner Jerry Jones. Eustace lived the last eight years of his life in Austin, Texas. He is survived by his only child, son Gilbert Conwoop of Austin and many nieces and nephews. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28, at Comanche Nation Funeral Home with funeral services at Deyo Mission Church, Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. He will be buried at Deyo Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma with services conducted by the Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
