Abrahamson, Eva Essamary Parker 94, peacefully joined her late husband of 59 years on March 21, 2013. Born in Boise, Idaho, the only child of Eva & Ardwin Parker, Essamary lived in Dallas for the past 41 years. Essamary graduated from the University of Idaho in 1940 where she was active in numerous social and educational societies including Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. She married William Abrahamson, the love of her life, on November 20, 1941. Between 1942-1947 she worked for the Idaho State Department. While her Army officer husband was serving in the Pacific, Essamary volunteered at the USO and many of the war support groups in the Boise area. Upon his return they moved throughout the northwest where Essamary taught school at grades 1-12 levels, often times in the same room, concurrently. In 1952 Essamary retired to devote her time to raising 3 children, caring for her mother and mother-in-law and running a busy household. She served as President of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Associations in both Fairfield County, Connecticut and in Dallas, Texas as well as serving as President of the El Paso, Texas Panhellenic Council. She was a past President of the North Dallas Women's Club. She actively supported the A & M Mothers Club while 2 of her children were in attendance. She was an avid bridge and scrabble player and loved her crossword puzzles. Throughout her life, Essamary traveled the world visiting both humbling and exotic locations. Always eager to 'make a memory' and share her experiences, she instilled in her own children the love of travel and adventure. Essamary is survived by her 3 children Pattiann Parsons, KC Mencl and Bill Abrahamson, their spouses, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 1:30 PM.
