Akins, Inez Naomi She was born Nov. 13, 1916 and went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 2008. The daughter of Albert and Hattie Caldwell, she was preceded in death by her husband Barney Lee Akins, her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Wanda Burton & Chuck; sons & daughters-in-laws Norman Akins & Carol, Jerry Akins & Lula; brother Dwayne Caldwell; sister Rosalee Smith; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was a beloved wife, mother, Mema, and friend. She worked for Collins Radio for 29 years. She served in many capacities at North Dallas Baptist Church where she attended for 66 years. She was an avid traveler with her close friend Cloradee Kelley. She was an excellent seamstress and could make anything from custom curtains to formal garments. Her fun-loving outgoing & generous nature spiced up every occasion. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Hughes Funeral Home, North Chapel with Pastor Carl Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
