Weatherread, James Larry James Larry Weatherread, 66, of Dallas, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. He was born in Commerce, Texas, April 25, 1947, to Ada and Arthur Weatherread. He is a 1965 graduate of Mesquite High School and attended ETSU in Commerce before joining the U.S. Marine Corps
, where he proudly served his country until 1972. He worked as an inland marine underwriter for major insurance companies in Dallas (Royal, Trinity and American Home) before creating his own coin-op business in 1988. He enjoyed flying, Ham radio operation, firearms and shooting, playing guitar, comedy, and had an insatiable thirst for knowledge. Larry is preceded in death by his father Arthur, and survived by his mother Ada, of Dallas. Married December 2, 1978, Larry is also survived by his loving wife, Fredna; daughter Lindsay, son and daughter-in-law Brandon and April, and son Adam; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Mike Davis, all of Dallas; in-laws: Gay Lynn and Herman Bynum, of Denton; Teresa and Michael Wooten, of Cookville; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. As a proud father and husband, when it came to his family, Larry always loved them deeply, provided for them, and felt immense joy supporting and celebrating all of their accomplishments. He will be remembered always for his quick wit, intellgence, his love of supporting and providing for family, and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers a memorial trust is being setup in his name. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake in Dallas.
