Jean Beler Wallace(1920 - 2012)

Jean Larimore Jean Beler Wallace, well known for her professional and volunteer work in the Dallas area, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2012. She was born in Huntington, WV, on December 16, 1920 to Max and Ruth Larimore. She attended high school in Memphis, TN, and married John Alford in 1943. Jean is survived by her three children, Judy Peterson of Houston, Larry Alford of Austin and Barbara Slaughter of Dallas, and six grandchildren. She retired from Collins Radio in Richardson after working there for 17 year as an assistant to the Director. During this time, she was married to Joe Beler, from 1975 until his death in 2004. After retirement, she enjoyed part time work for eight years in sales at the International Apparel Mart in Dallas, twelve years at the Dallas Market Center during major events and for twelve years as a volunteer at the Scottish Rite Hospital. Shewas a member of First United Methodist Church in Richardson and their Pathfinder Sunday school class. She cherished the time with her husband, Ross Wallace, who preceded her in death by 22 days. Jean leaves many friends from her Myears of fun and laughter with many social groups, such as Richardson's Women's Club, North Dallas Area Women's Club, Gourmet Club and several bridge groups or clubs. Jean always had her "go-go" boots on. A service to celebrate Jean's life and memory will be held on Friday, January 4th at the United Methodist Church of Richardson located at 503 N. Central Expressway beginning at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to a healthcare account, at View Point Bank, for the benefit of Jean's daughter --Judy.
