Joe Sid Eaton

EATON, REV. JOE SID, 87 Passed away on Good Friday, the day we remember the death of his Savior, Jesus Christ, March 25, 2005 in his Irving home. He now will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday from a ringside seat! He was born on October 15, 1917 in Sulpher Springs, Texas. Pastor Eaton was a resident of Irving since 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving in World War II. He was the longtime minister of First Baptist Church of Las Colinas serving from 1964 to 1981. He was survived by his wife, Mildred Eaton of Irving; son & daughter-in-law, Bill & Jan Eaton of Palmer Lake, CO.; three daughters sons-in-law, Jeanne & Doyle Gatlin of Trophy Club, TX., Delores & Eddy Greene of Argyle, TX, Di & Dakota Burgess of Irving, TX; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one sister, Bessie Henderson of Mineral Wells, TX., and numerous nieces & nephews. Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Calvary Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Las Colinas. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
