John E. Anderson

ANDERSON, JOHN E., Beloved husband, father, and friend passed away on April 21, 2006 in Dallas. Preceded in death by his wife Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Alice Elizabeth; son, Andrew Edwin; daughter, Sarah Ellen; and 5 grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Anderson, John Edward Anderson II, Roy Franklin Karr V, Andrea Elaine Zents, and Michael Anderson Karr. John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 4, 1926 to Anders Anderson and Margery Sholl Anderson. He had two sisters; Peggy Jean Anderson Kern and Shirley Mae Anderson Pahlow. John graduated from Bayview High School in Milwaukee in January 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He spent a year on Okinawa, where he served as a Company Supply NCO with the 8th Air Force. He received an Honorable Discharge after serving 18 months. He returned home to Milwaukee and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. John earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, spent a year in Milwaukee, and then moved to Texas; eventually coming to Dallas. John and Betty Nell Potts were married on June 1, 1955 in Wichita Falls, TX. John, with his wife Betty, were active members of Highland Park Methodist Church, Walnut Hill Methodist, First Methodist Church of Carrollton, and Hillcrest Church. During these years of church membership, John served as a Bible Teacher for 5th graders, for adult Cambodian refugees in the Dallas area and for senior citizens. He was active in leadership in Bible Study Fellowship. In his spare time, John enjoyed playing golf with friends at local public courses. He was a sales engineer for Wallace and Tiernan, manufacturers of chemical feed equipment used primarily in the water and waste treatment industry. A Memorial Service will be held on April 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Hillcrest Church in memory of John Anderson.
