Lois Cunningham

Cunningham, Lois Alene Lois Alene Cunningham, our Warrior in Pink, earned her wings on the afternoon of November 16. While we will deeply miss her, we will also celebrate her continuing presence in our lives: her love for family and friends, her laughter and sense of adventure, her courage to face life's most difficult challenges, and her unswerving faith in the goodness and preciousness of life. Lois traveled extensively and was the queen of cruises. She water-skied, white water rafted, raised daughters and Arabian horses, fished at South Padre, and was a master of crossword puzzles. She was always the prettiest mother at her daughters' school functions, and no doubt, one of the loudest cheerleaders at Hanover High School in Hanover, Illinois. Lois is lovingly remembered by her daughters Tracy Harris and fiancé Corey Robbins, Cathy Briggs and husband Len, and Kathy Cunningham; her grandchildren, Lindsey Herndon and husband Dustin, Alexandria Bjerke and husband John, Christa Franklin and husband Joe, Melissa Davis and husband Shannon, Rian Martin and wife Romina, Kyle Briggs, and Kaitlyn Cunningham; her great grandson, Brayden Martin and great granddaughters Bailee Shanks, and Charlie and Emery Herndon; nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. In honor of Lois, please wear something pink to her Celebration of Life; pink was not only her favorite color, but it also represents her perseverance and sheer grit in the face of a formidable adversary. Mom, you won, because love always wins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund or the . The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kristi Jo McIntyre and her staff as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff on the oncology floor of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital for their compassion, care, and considerateness. www.byrumfuneralhome.com
