Loraine Oginsky

Oginsky, Loraine E. Born in Detroit, Michigan on September 16, 1938, Lori peacefully left this world on December 27, 2012. She was born to Donald and Gertrude Wexler and attended Wayne University in Detroit and later, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Lori will be remembered for many things - her philanthropic involvements and deep spirituality among them - but her first priority was always her family. Wonderful and caring wife to Don, mother to Sheryl and Jay, and grandmother to Greer, Lori was a firm and steadfast fixture at any and all family events from school functions and sporting events to celebrations and holiday gatherings. Lori possessed a singular combination of steel and grace - in times of happiness or sadness, she was always there for everyone around her. She will also be remembered as a loyal and devoted friend, and beloved confidante who made time to listen and offer sound advice. Diagnosed with cancer 23 years ago, she fought hard so she could be there to share in the lives of those she loved. Lori is survived by her husband Don of 53 years, her son Jay and his wife Judi, her son-in-law Robert and granddaughter Greer. The family requests memorials be given to the or a . Funeral Services will take place at Temple Emanu-El, Lefkowitz Chapel, on Sunday, December 30 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park will follow the service.
