Otrede Ardoin

Ardoin, Otrede Albert Otrede Albert Ardoin of Dallas died Tuesday Feb. 12th, 2013 at the age of 85 after a brief illness. Otrede was born Jan. 2, 1928 in Dallas to Albert Ardoin and Ina Austin. He grew up in Dallas with his three older sisters. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He fought in WWII and was a survivor of the Battle of Iwo Jima where he was wounded in action. He received a purple heart for his service. In 1951 Otrede joined the Dallas Fire Department. He married Charlotte Maxine Hunter in April 1973. He remained with the fire department for 34 years and retired as the Captain at station 51. He was an avid golfer after retiring. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maxine, his son, Jon Ardoin, two daughters, Becky Varnell and Laurie Hunter, 5 grandchildren Jeremy, Jeb II, and Jessica Ardoin, Rachel Varnell-Caldwell and Jason Varnell and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, LaVera Cornwall He was preceded in death by his son Jeb Ardoin and his sisters Lois Taylor and Nora Leigh Satterfield. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday February 16, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, February 15 at Restland Funeral Home.
